Observatory of the patients’ rights and duties

The law of March 4th, 2002 deeply modified the relationship between physicians and patients while recognizing, beyond the general rights of the person, the respect of the individuality of the health system’s user. Indeed, whereas before the medical decision concerned only the doctor, the law takes into consideration both the doctor and the patient.
These changes make it necessary for lawyers, physicians, philosophers, psychologists, sociologists and patients to discuss openly within the legal framework of the medical decision.
This is why the Institute sets up an observatory on the multidisciplinary competence of the Paris-Descartes University. The Observatory resides on a multidisciplinary Commission and a network of correspondents.
